Presidency, El-Rufai Clash Over Alleged Federal Government Interference in Opposition Crises

Abuja, Nigeria – A fresh political standoff erupted on Tuesday as the Presidency and former Kaduna State Governor, Nasir El-Rufai, clashed over allegations that the Federal Government is orchestrating internal crises and legal battles within opposition parties.

El-Rufai made the claim during a visit to the Social Democratic Party (SDP) headquarters in Abuja, where he accused the ruling government of fueling the disarray and inactivity plaguing opposition parties.

A video of his meeting with the SDP leadership has since gone viral, sparking heated debates on social media.

The Presidency has yet to issue a formal response, but sources within the government dismissed El-Rufai’s remarks as baseless and politically motivated.

El-Rufai, who recently defected from the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) to the SDP, has been vocal about his discontent with the current administration, further deepening political tensions in the country.
