Nyesom Wike, the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), highlighted the completion of the recently built interchange bridges across the Outer Northern Motorway (Murtala Mohammed Motorway) along Arterial Road N20—Wole Soyinka Way—on X (previously Twitter) on Wednesday.

In his post, Wike shared a celebratory message:

The Minister in a follow-up post also stated:
“Yesterday, we commissioned the newly constructed road Linking Idu with Zuba Road today. Today, we are commissioning another project.”

The interchange project, which aims to improve traffic flow and shorten travel times between central Abuja and its rapidly expanding northern regions, is a major turning point in the city’s infrastructure modernization plan.

The finished bridges help convey people between the Northern Parkway and the Outer Northern Motorway and are a component of the larger Wole Soyinka Way, a crucial corridor named after Nigeria’s Nobel Laureate.

The announcement has been well received by locals and drivers, who are hopeful that the new junction would reduce traffic on one of the busiest routes in the capital and boost local economies.

By ensuring that residential and commercial centers are well-connected and prepared to capitalize on Abuja’s growth potential, the accomplishment demonstrates the FCT Administration’s dedication to improving urban connectivity and fulfilling President Bola Tinubu’s infrastructure plan.
