TESCOM Recruitment: Ekiti Warns Against Fake Portals

The Ekiti State Government has distanced itself from fraudulent recruitment websites falsely claiming to be the official portal for the Teaching Service Commission (TESCOM) recruitment exercise. These fake platforms, created by scammers, aim to deceive unsuspecting job seekers.

No Official Recruitment Portal Yet

Speaking on “Ekiti Loni/Ekiti Today,” a live radio program broadcast across the state, the Commissioner for Information, Rt. Hon. Taiwo Olatunbosun, clarified that although Governor Biodun Oyebanji recently approved the recruitment of 1,800 teaching and non-teaching staff for public schools, TESCOM has not yet opened any portal for applications. He emphasized that the necessary administrative procedures must be completed before the official advertisement for vacancies.

Olatunbosun urged the public to disregard any circulating websites or recruitment announcements that do not originate from TESCOM, warning that these are fraudulent attempts to scam job seekers.

Government Commitment to Transparency

The commissioner reassured citizens that the government remains committed to transparency and will continue to provide official updates through its approved media channels. He stressed that the welfare of residents is a top priority, with a focus on sustainable development and economic growth.

According to him, the Oyebanji administration is adopting a strategic approach to state development, ensuring that policies and initiatives benefit all citizens. He reiterated that while the government will continue hiring qualified personnel to strengthen public service delivery, it is also creating opportunities beyond traditional government jobs.

Job Creation Beyond Public Service

Olatunbosun highlighted the administration’s efforts to support businesses, micro, small, and medium enterprises (MSMEs), and agriculture. He noted that the government is facilitating access to soft loans and grants for entrepreneurs while also promoting agribusiness to attract more people into farming.

Additionally, he pointed out initiatives such as the promotion of “Ekiti Adire,” the state’s traditional tie-and-dye fabric, as part of a broader strategy to boost local industries. The policy, which mandates the wearing of Ekiti Adire on the third Wednesday of every month, is designed to create jobs, empower artisans, and generate revenue for the state.

“The goal is to add value and engage human resources, particularly in rural areas and among underserved communities,” Olatunbosun stated.

He reassured the public that the government will continue to create opportunities that foster self-sufficiency, ensuring that Ekiti residents thrive in a growing and prosperous economy.
