Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu of Lagos State has announced that the mid-level Agro Food Hub under construction in Sangotedo, Eti-Osa Local Government Area, is over 90 percent complete, with finishing touches currently underway.

The governor disclosed this during an inspection visit on Tuesday, noting that the project is designed to strengthen food access and distribution across the state.

In a statement shared on his verified X handle, Sanwo-Olu said the hub, built on 23,000 square meters of land, will feature storage facilities, trading floors, and parking spaces to make fresh food more accessible to residents in the axis.

“This hub is part of our broader plan to decentralize food distribution across Lagos,” the governor stated. He added that similar facilities are being developed in Agege, Lagos Island, Oregun, and Ikorodu, with additional projects planned for Epe and Badagry. All of these, he explained, will connect to the main logistics hub in Ketu-Ereyun, which will serve as the backbone of Lagos’ food distribution network.

Sanwo-Olu stressed that the Agro Food Hubs are central to the state’s food security agenda, aligning with both the Lagos Agricultural Roadmap and the Produce for Lagos initiative.

“By this time next year, I expect these hubs will already be improving food access for our residents,” he said.
