German Foreign Minister Annalena Baerbock has accused Russian President Vladimir Putin of delaying peace talks on Ukraine. During her visit to Kyiv, she said Russia is avoiding real negotiations while continuing attacks.

Germany’s Support for Ukraine

Baerbock reaffirmed Germany’s commitment to helping Ukraine with military, financial, and humanitarian aid. She criticized Russia for making excuses instead of seeking a peaceful solution.

“The world has asked Russia to negotiate, but instead, we see more destruction. This is not diplomacy; this is delay tactics,” Baerbock said.

Ukraine’s Response

Ukrainian Foreign Minister Dmytro Kuleba agreed, saying Russia is using talks as a cover while continuing its military campaign. He stressed that Ukraine is open to negotiations but will not compromise its sovereignty.

Kuleba urged Western allies to keep sanctions on Russia and provide more military support to help defend Ukraine.

Russia’s Position

The Kremlin denied stalling, instead blaming Ukraine and the West for blocking talks. Russian officials insist their demands, including security guarantees and recognition of annexed territories, have been ignored.

Meanwhile, NATO and the European Union are stepping up support for Ukraine, with new military aid and potential sanctions against Russia.

What’s Next?

With both sides unwilling to back down, a quick resolution seems unlikely. The conflict continues to escalate, raising concerns about further humanitarian crises.

Germany and its allies have promised continued support for Ukraine while urging Russia to engage in serious negotiations. However, the chances of peace talks making progress remain uncertain.

More updates will follow as the situation develops.
