Obi revealed that the donation was made in collaboration with fellow Old Boys of CKC, aimed at improving infrastructure and enhancing the learning environment at the prestigious institution. The initiative, he said, reflects both a personal mission and collective effort to give back to a school that helped shape their formative years.
“I returned to my alma mater, Christ the King College, Onitsha, to present a ₦50 million support in collaboration with some fellow Old Boys,” Obi posted. “This is a heartfelt act of gratitude to an institution that instilled in us discipline, academic excellence, and moral grounding.”
Obi, who has long championed education as a critical pillar of national development, emphasized that investing in education remains Nigeria’s most vital pathway to progress. He called on all alumni of CKC and other institutions across the country to take initiative in supporting their former schools.
“We must not wait for government alone,” Obi urged. “In our own ways, we can rebuild the institutions that once built us.”
In his message, he extended appreciation to the management of CKC, the Archbishop of Onitsha, Most Rev. Valerian Okeke, and everyone contributing to educational advancement in the country.
He concluded with a call for collective responsibility in nurturing the next generation:
“Let us continue to work together for the good of our children and the future of our nation.”
The gesture has drawn widespread commendation on social media, with many praising Obi’s consistent dedication to grassroots development and the empowerment of Nigerian youth through education.
