1,130 recipients of the Federal College of Education (Technical), Potiskum, Yobe State, have received ₦73,429,200.00 from the Nigeria Education Loan Fund (NELFUND).

On Monday, June 7, 2025, NELFUND made this announcement using its official X (formerly Twitter) account. The payment is a component of the NELFUND’s larger plan to increase educational access by providing qualified students nationwide with direct financial assistance.

“We are pleased to announce the disbursement of ₦73,429,200.00 to 1,130 beneficiaries at the Federal College of Education (Technical), Potiskum, Yobe State. This disbursement reflects our ongoing commitment to supporting educational institutions and empowering individuals through targeted funding.” the statement read.

In order to help many Nigerians pursue high-quality education, particularly in underserved and economically disadvantaged areas, NELFUND reaffirmed its commitment to closing the financial gap.

Students at one of the nation’s major technical institutes are the recipients of this most recent tranche, which observers say would further strengthen technical and vocational education in Nigeria, a field thought to be essential for job generation and national growth.

This development coincides with a statewide implementation of NELFUND’s student loan program, which aims to increase opportunity and inclusivity in Nigeria’s educational system.

The agency has promised to continue working with institutions and stakeholders to ensure transparent, timely, and impactful disbursement of education loans.
