The Nigerian Air Force (NAF) has delivered vital infrastructure to Anipupo Community in Odeda Local Government Area of Ogun State, commissioning 30 solar-powered streetlights, an industrial borehole, and a 35,000-litre water storage facility.
The Special Intervention/Quick Impact Project, inaugurated on 26 August 2025 in honour of Air Vice Marshal Abidemi Timothy Marquis, reflects NAF’s commitment to strengthening Civil-Military Relations (CMR) while improving living conditions and fostering trust with local communities.
Speaking on behalf of the Chief of the Air Staff (CAS), Air Marshal Hasan Bala Abubakar, the Chief of Civil-Military Relations, AVM Ibikunle Daramola, said the initiative underscored NAF’s resolve to impact lives beyond combat operations.
“Projects like this resonate with our non-kinetic operations. By providing clean water and lighting up the community, we are not only improving livelihoods but also reinforcing the bond of trust between the Nigerian Air Force and the people we serve,” he said.
In his remarks, AVM Abidemi Timothy Marquis urged community members to safeguard the facilities, describing them as “a seed that must grow into lasting development.”
The Special Guest of Honour, Governor Dapo Abiodun of Ogun State, represented by the Commissioner for Environment, Mr Ola Oresanya, praised the initiative as “a shining example of partnership that transforms lives.” He noted that the project aligns with Ogun State’s grassroots development agenda and urged residents to use the facilities responsibly while supporting security agencies in maintaining peace.
Governor Abiodun further commended the Nigerian Air Force for extending its role in nation-building beyond its core defence responsibilities, stressing that such interventions strengthen both communities and national development.
