LOXEA Nigeria, a subsidiary of CFAO Mobility, has introduced electric vehicles (EVs) to the Nigerian market, marking a significant step toward sustainable mobility in the country.

According to a statement signed by LOXEA’s Managing Director, Mehdi Slimani, the company is partnering with Build Your Dreams (BYD)—a global leader in electric and plug-in hybrid vehicles—to distribute 100% electric vehicles in Nigeria.

Comprehensive EV Ecosystem & Charging Solutions

LOXEA is not just offering EVs but also providing a full suite of services, including:
EV Charging Stations – The first station will be launched at their upcoming showroom in Victoria Island, Lagos.
Home Charging Solutions – Customers can charge their EVs conveniently at home.
Maintenance & Repairs – Dedicated services to support the adoption of electric mobility.
Spare Parts Availability – Ensuring continued vehicle performance and reliability.

Supporting Nigeria’s Energy Transition

Slimani expressed enthusiasm about the launch, stating:

“We are proud to distribute these electric vehicles and provide all associated services. Our Victoria Island showroom will showcase BYD vehicles in a modern and comfortable space, helping customers transition to electric mobility.”

Similarly, Marc Hirschfeld, CEO of CFAO Mobility, emphasized that BYD’s innovation aligns with the increasing demand for sustainable transportation in Africa. He stressed the need for a complete ecosystem, including corporate, urban public transport, and government stakeholders, to facilitate the transition.

BYD’s Global Impact & Leadership in EVs

BYD recently achieved a historic milestone in November 2024, producing its 10 millionth new energy vehicle (NEV). In 2024 alone, the company sold 4.27 million NEVs, securing its position as the global sales leader for three consecutive years.

With LOXEA’s strategic entry into Nigeria’s emerging electric vehicle market, the country takes a step closer to a greener and more sustainable future in transportation.
