Liverpool Football Club has officially confirmed the signing of French striker Hugo Ekitike from Eintracht Frankfurt, in a high-profile move announced via the club’s official X (formerly Twitter) account on Wednesday.
The 23-year-old forward, who enjoyed a sensational Bundesliga season with 22 goals and 12 assists, joins the Premier League giants on a six-year contract. The deal, as revealed by renowned transfer expert Fabrizio Romano, is worth an initial €80 million, with €10 million in easily achievable add-ons and a further €5 million in performance-related bonuses, potentially bringing the total package to €95 million.
“Hugo Ekitike joins Liverpool from Eintracht Frankfurt on six year contract. €80m fixed fee, €10m easy add-ons and €5m difficult add-ons as package for the French striker,” Romano posted to his followers on X.

Ekitike’s arrival marks a major statement of intent by Liverpool under new head coach Arne Slot, as the Reds look to revamp their attacking options following key departures and rising competition in the Premier League and Europe.
The French international is expected to link up with the squad immediately as they continue their preseason tour in Hong Kong, giving fans an early glimpse of what could become a defining addition to the club’s new era.
Ekitike rose to prominence at Stade de Reims before moving to Frankfurt, where he rapidly established himself as one of Europe’s most dynamic and clinical forwards. Known for his pace, technical skill, and intelligent movement, he brings a fresh dimension to Liverpool’s attack.
With his versatility to play across the front line and his eye for goal, Ekitike will bolster a Liverpool side already brimming with talent, while providing long-term firepower and depth to Slot’s tactical plans.
Ekitike’s debut could come in the club’s upcoming friendly match in Hong Kong, as he integrates into the squad ahead of what promises to be a competitive season both domestically and in Europe.
With Hugo Ekitike’s signing, Liverpool have not only secured a top-tier striker but also sent a clear message: the Reds are ready to challenge for silverware once again.
