The Kogi State Government has issued a stern warning to suspended Senator Natasha Akpoti-Uduaghan, holding her accountable for any violence that may result from her actions.

The warning follows the senator’s homecoming rally on Tuesday, which defied the state’s directive banning political gatherings and convoys. In a statement released by the Commissioner for Information and Communication, Kingsley Fanwo, the government accused Akpoti-Uduaghan of attempting to incite unrest in Kogi Central Senatorial District with “reckless and false allegations” against key political figures.

The government dismissed her claims that Senate President Godswill Akpabio, former Kogi Governor Yahaya Bello, and incumbent Governor Ahmed Usman Ododo were responsible for her political struggles, calling them a deliberate attempt to mislead the public and stir controversy.

Fanwo further alleged that her visit to Kogi Central was a calculated move to disrupt peace in the state. He claimed that after realizing the consequences, she deleted her controversial Facebook post, but the government had already obtained evidence.

Labeling Akpoti-Uduaghan as a “security threat,” the government accused her of consistently disregarding laws and attempting to destabilize the state. The statement reaffirmed the government’s commitment to maintaining law and order, warning that no individual, regardless of status, would be allowed to incite unrest.

The government also urged security agencies to monitor her actions closely and ensure accountability for any disturbances. “Kogi State remains peaceful under Governor Ododo, and we will not allow anyone to derail our commitment to security and progress,” the statement concluded.
