Governor of Akwa Ibom State, Pastor Umo Eno, on Monday, August 25, 2025, received a new batch of Ibom Air cadet pilots and aircraft engineers at Government House, Uyo.

The group comprises 15 graduates trained at the Airbus Flight Academy in Toulouse, France, and 20 others from the Ethiopian Aviation University in Addis Ababa.

Speaking at the reception, Governor Eno expressed pride in the achievements of the young professionals, describing their success as a testament to the state’s investment in human capital development.

“I am proud that these young men and women, sponsored by our state, who excelled with distinction. This is human capital development in action. My message to Akwa Ibom youths is simple: we will continue to open doors, but you must step in and seize the opportunities,” he said.

Governor Eno also commended his predecessor, Mr. Udom Emmanuel, CON, for initiating the Ibom Air training programme, which his administration inherited and completed.

“We are sustaining that vision further by investing in the aviation ecosystem, with 10 major projects ongoing at the Victor Attah International Airport. Ibom Air is our airline and our pride; together, we will continue to build it stronger. God bless Akwa Ibom State,” he added.

The reception marks another milestone in the growth of Ibom Air, which has become a flagship project showcasing Akwa Ibom’s strides in aviation development.
