Suspended Rivers State Governor, Siminalayi Fubara, has urged residents to remain patient amid the ongoing political crisis, likening the situation to the biblical story of Noah’s Ark.

Speaking to a delegation of Muslim leaders from 20 Islamic groups during an Eid-el-Fitr visit to his private residence in Port Harcourt, Fubara assured the people that the turmoil would only strengthen their unity and resolve.

He condemned those attempting to destabilize the state and vowed to resist any efforts to disrupt peace and economic stability.

  • Fubara’s Message:
    • Called for patience, saying, “If God could wait for even the snail to enter Noah’s Ark, then patience remains a virtue in our struggle.”
    • Declared that political saboteurs would not succeed in creating instability or harming livelihoods.
    • Reaffirmed his commitment to justice and governance, stating, “We will continue to respect constituted authority and ensure Rivers State remains a model of peace in Nigeria.”
  • Support from Muslim Leaders:
    • Speaking on behalf of the delegation, Nasir Uhor commended Fubara’s inclusive leadership and pledged continued support.
    • Urged President Bola Tinubu to review the emergency rule in Rivers State and restore Fubara’s full authority.
    • Emphasized patience as a virtue, drawing from Islamic teachings.

The ongoing crisis in Rivers State remains a major concern, with political stakeholders closely monitoring developments as Fubara and his supporters stand firm against perceived oppression.
