Akwa Ibom State Governor, Pastor Umo Eno, has reaffirmed his commitment to quality healthcare delivery under the ARISE Agenda, commissioning a new Hemodialysis Unit along with refurbished Accident & Emergency and Pediatric wards at Ikot Ekpene General Hospital on Monday, March 24.
Representing the Governor at the event, Dr. Patrick Umoh, Member representing Ikot Ekpene/Essien Udim/Obot Akara Federal Constituency, expressed appreciation for the community’s support. He assured residents that the administration would continue to enhance healthcare services and fulfill campaign promises.
Key Announcements & Contributions
- Hon. Patrick Umoh, Chairman of the House Committee on Health Institutions, lauded the Governor’s efforts and pledged to enroll 100 women in the State Healthcare Insurance Scheme.
- He also announced the donation of three ambulances to the State Government for improved emergency health response.
- State Commissioner for Health, Dr. Ekem John, highlighted that the rise in renal failure cases prompted the establishment of the new dialysis facility and revealed plans to set up Hemodialysis Units across all 10 federal constituencies.
