Beloved actress and producer Funke Akindele has finally spoken about motherhood for that which the world has recognized since her breakup with JJC Skillz: and she has not sugar-coated it.
In this interview, she shared that she is raising her children alone with no help from ex-husband JJC Skillz in any sort of co-parenting manner. It is all about Funke with her kids and determination to make their lives worth living.
“It’s been hard,” she said, “but every single day, I wake up for my children. I’m their mother, their protector, and their provider.”
The weight is heavy for one who is successfully into Nollywood and has children. Funke, however, does not want pity; she just wants to tell her story so that others will know they are not alone.
She went on to talk frankly about how she protects her children from public scrutiny. “They didn’t choose this life. I did. So I try to give them as normal a childhood as I can.”
