Arsenal defender Jakub Kiwior is close to sealing a loan move to FC Porto, which includes a mandatory purchase option valued at around €26 million.

The 24-year-old Polish international, who has seen limited action at the Emirates, opted for Porto ahead of more than 15 suitors, among them Juventus.

According to football transfer expert Fabrizio Romano, “Arsenal prepare opening bid, likely loan plus obligation to buy… with Kiwior to FC Porto, soon.”

He is expected to sign a five-year deal as the transfer window draws to a close. The transfer is anticipated to strengthen Porto’s backline while providing Arsenal with funds to pursue new signings.

The deal is seen as a major boost for the Portuguese side, who are aiming to reinforce their defensive ranks ahead of the new season.

For Arsenal, the transfer is likely to free up funds to pursue late incoming signings, as manager Mikel Arteta looks to strengthen key areas of the squad.
