Renowned football transfer expert Fabrizio Romano has confirmed via his X (formerly Twitter) account that Beşiktaş JK has reached a verbal agreement with AS Roma for the permanent transfer of English striker Tammy Abraham.

According to Romano, the Turkish giants will pay a transfer fee of approximately €20 million for the former Chelsea and England forward, who has also accepted the move.

“Besiktas reach verbal agreement to sign Tammy Abraham on permanent deal from AS Roma, here we go! Transfer fee around €20m. Abraham has accepted the destination. Time for paperwork between clubs. Tammy, set to fly to Turkey”, he wrote.

The 27-year-old forward is expected to become one of the biggest signings of the Süper Lig summer window, with Beşiktaş looking to rebuild their squad after a disappointing domestic campaign.

Abraham joined AS Roma in 2021 under manager José Mourinho and had an impressive first season, including a key role in the club’s UEFA Europa Conference League triumph. However, his second and third seasons were disrupted by injuries and inconsistent form.

If the deal is finalized, Abraham will join fellow former Premier League players who have found new momentum in Turkish football, and Beşiktaş will be banking on his experience and proven goal-scoring ability to help them mount a stronger title challenge in the upcoming season.

Official confirmation from both clubs is expected once the paperwork is completed.
