The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC), in collaboration with the Nigerian Immigration Service (NIS), has repatriated 51 additional foreign nationals convicted of cyber-terrorism and internet fraud in Nigeria.

In a statement released on its official X handle on Thursday, August 21, 2025, the EFCC disclosed that the latest group included 50 Chinese nationals and one Tunisian.

According to the Commission, this brings the total number of repatriated convicted foreign nationals to 102 since the ongoing exercise began on Friday, August 15, 2025.

The convicts were among 192 foreign suspects arrested during a sting operation in Lagos, following intelligence reports on the activities of what authorities described as one of the largest foreign-led cybercrime syndicates operating in Nigeria.

The EFCC further revealed that additional deportations are scheduled in the coming days as the crackdown on transnational cybercrime networks continues.
