EFCC Arrests Two Women for Naira Hawking in Lagos

The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) has arrested two women, Adeoti Folake and Adewuyi Modupe, in Lagos for allegedly hawking Naira notes in violation of the law.

According to Dele Oyewale, EFCC spokesperson, the arrests took place on Friday, March 21, 2025, as operatives from the Lagos Directorate 1 apprehended the suspects for their involvement in Naira abuse.

Cash Seized from Suspects

  • ₦3,850,000 was recovered from Adeoti Folake
  • ₦1,600,000 was recovered from Adewuyi Modupe

The EFCC emphasized that the suspects will be charged to court upon the completion of investigations.
