EFCC Arrests 13 Suspected Internet Fraudsters in Uyo

The Uyo Zonal Directorate of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) has arrested 13 suspected internet fraudsters in Uyo, Akwa Ibom State.

The EFCC disclosed this in a post on its X (formerly Twitter) account on Monday, March 24, 2025, stating that the suspects were apprehended during a special operation based on intelligence on Friday, March 21, 2025.

Breakdown of the Arrests

  • Seven suspects were arrested at Campgee Hotel.
  • Five suspects were apprehended near Mission Road, off Ring Road 3.
  • One suspect was picked up at an undisclosed location.

Items Recovered

The EFCC stated that the following items were seized from the suspects:

  • Two exotic cars
  • Five laptops
  • 14 smartphones

The anti-graft agency confirmed that investigations are ongoing, and the suspects ywill be charged to court upon completion of the probe.
