The Uyo Zonal Directorate of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) has arrested twelve suspected internet fraudsters in a sting operation carried out around Stadium Road, Unity Road, and Ekpri Nsukara in Uyo, Akwa Ibom State.
According to a statement posted on the Commission’s official X handle, the arrests followed credible intelligence linking the suspects to alleged internet-related crimes.
Items recovered from the suspects include 20 mobile phones and three laptops.
The EFCC confirmed that the suspects will be charged to court upon the conclusion of ongoing investigations.
