Italian club Como 1907 has officially completed the permanent signing of Máximo Perrone from Manchester City, football transfer expert Fabrizio Romano confirmed on his X (formerly Twitter) account on Friday, July 18, 2025.
According to Romano, the deal sees the Argentine midfielder join Como for a transfer fee of €13 million, with a contract running until June 2029.
“Como completed formal steps to sign Máximo Perrone from Manchester City on a permanent deal. €13m transfer fee and contract until June 2029,” Romano posted to his over 20 million followers, signalling the finalization of the transfer.
The 21-year-old Perrone, who joined Manchester City in 2023 from Vélez Sarsfield, found limited first-team opportunities under Pep Guardiola and spent parts of last season on loan. His technical ability and tactical intelligence have long drawn attention across Europe, and his move to Como represents both a fresh challenge and a key addition for the Serie A newcomers.
Como 1907, backed by American investors and building an ambitious project around experienced players and young talents, views Perrone as a vital piece in their midfield for the long term as they aim to solidify their place in Italy’s top flight.
Club officials are yet to make a formal announcement, but an unveiling is expected in the coming days as the team prepares for pre-season fixtures.
With this move, Perrone becomes one of the standout summer signings for Como as they continue their rise from Serie B to compete at the highest level of Italian football.
