Transfer expert Fabrizio Romano has confirmed via his official X (formerly Twitter) account that Bryan Mbeumo, the dynamic Brentford forward, is set to join Manchester United following a verbal agreement reached between all parties involved.
According to Romano, the deal will see the Cameroonian international sign a five-year contract with the Red Devils, running until June 2030, with an optional clause allowing an extension to 2031 upon signing.
In the post, the Football transfer expert said:
“Bryan Mbeumo to Manchester United, here we go! Verbal agreement in place between all parties involved. Mbeumo will sign deal until June 2030 with option until 2031. Brentford to receive £62.5m clause. Formal steps/contracts to be checked next week”, he wrote.
The transfer marks a significant summer move for Manchester United as they look to strengthen their attacking options ahead of the 2025/26 Premier League season. Mbeumo, who scored 12 goals and provided 8 assists last season, has been widely praised for his versatility, pace, and playmaking ability.
Brentford, meanwhile, are set to pocket £62.5 million, which includes performance-related add-ons. This would make Mbeumo one of the most expensive sales in the club’s history, underlining the player’s value in the current transfer market.
While a formal announcement from the clubs is still pending, Romano’s trademark “here we go” confirmation has already sent United fans into celebration mode, with expectations high for the 25-year-old winger’s impact at Old Trafford.
Mbeumo is expected to complete his medical in the coming days, with an official unveiling to follow shortly after the final paperwork is concluded.
