Veteran Nollywood actress Ayo Adesanya has shared her thoughts on the rising trend of artificial beauty enhancements in the entertainment industry, particularly the Brazilian Butt Lift (BBL).

In a recent conversation with The Nation Newspaper at a movie premiere, Adesanya pointed out that while these enhancements are currently in vogue, they may not stand the test of time.

“I’ve noticed that people tend to prioritize superficial things these days, making artificial enhancements more popular,” she remarked. “But if you look closely, there are still those who appreciate originality. As an actor, it’s up to you to decide what path you want to follow. A few years from now, BBL may no longer be relevant because trends always change. There were different beauty standards in the past, and time will continue to reshape them.”

The actress further stressed that true talent should always take precedence over physical modifications. She encouraged actors to focus on their skills rather than relying on aesthetics to remain relevant.

“If you’re truly talented, artificial enhancements shouldn’t define you,” she said. “Your ability to act should outweigh the importance of BBL. After all, not every movie role requires a certain body type.”

Adesanya’s perspective highlights the enduring value of originality in Nollywood, reinforcing the idea that talent and authenticity will always be the foundation of lasting success.
