Former Vice President Atiku Abubakar is not holding back. In a candid statement made during a recent media chat, Atiku declared that President Bola Tinubu is incapable of tackling Nigeria’s escalating insecurity crisis. With kidnappings, terrorism, and banditry on the rise, Atiku said the current administration has no clear direction, no effective plan, and no visible results.
“The truth is, we are worse off than before,” Atiku stated. “What Nigerians need now is bold, strategic leadership, not guesswork and empty pronouncements.”
He pointed to the frequent attacks in the North, the growing unrest in the Southeast, and the rampant lawlessness in many rural areas. According to Atiku, these issues are not just signs of poor security—they are proof that Nigeria’s leadership is failing.
His comments are likely to stir political tension, especially as Tinubu’s supporters continue to defend the government’s approach. But Atiku insists this is not about politics—it’s about accountability. “You can’t fight insecurity by pretending it’s under control. You fight it by taking responsibility and doing the hard work,” he said. “So far, this administration hasn’t done either.”
