Another Truck Crash on Abuja-Keffi Expressway Raises Safety Concerns

Less than 24 hours after a CNG-laden tanker collapsed near Karu Bridge on the Abuja-Keffi Expressway, another accident has occurred at the same location. A truck carrying fertilizer crashed into a Hijet and a dump truck (tipper) around 3:54 PM on Thursday.

No Casualties Reported, But Traffic Disruptions Continue

According to Nkechi Isa, Head of Public Affairs at the FCT Emergency Management Department, no lives were lost in the accident. However, the crash caused significant disruptions along the expressway. Emergency teams and the Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) are working to tow the affected vehicles to prevent further congestion.

Urgent Need for Road Safety Measures

This latest incident highlights ongoing safety concerns on the Abuja-Keffi Expressway, particularly near Karu Bridge. The frequency of crashes in this area raises questions about road conditions, driver behavior, and enforcement of safety regulations.

Authorities are urging motorists to drive cautiously, while videos from the scene show bystanders removing fertilizer bags from the fallen truck to ease traffic.

With back-to-back accidents in the same location, urgent intervention is needed to improve road safety and prevent future occurrences
