The husband of a woman filmed on Coldplay’s kiss cam getting close to her boss has clarified that he and his wife were already separated before the viral incident.

The Mirror reports that Andrew Cabot, 61, an entrepreneur from Massachusetts, confirmed that he and his wife Kristin had privately and amicably separated “several weeks before the Coldplay concert”. The couple has since filed for divorce.

The controversy began when Kristin was caught on camera with her manager during the band’s show, a clip that quickly spread across social media and even drew a light-hearted comment from frontman Chris Martin, who quipped the pair were either “having an affair or just very shy.”

In the aftermath, both Kristin and her boss faced professional consequences. They were placed on leave, and later resigned from their roles at tech company Astronomer, where Andy had served as CEO and Kristin as Head of HR. Andy himself also stepped down after what the company described as “failing to meet standards.”

Speaking through a spokesperson, Andrew stressed that the decision to divorce was already underway before the concert, saying: “Now that the divorce filing is public, Andrew hopes this provides respectful closure to speculation and allows his family the privacy they’ve always valued.”

Andrew, now leading a distillery in Ipswich, Massachusetts, has two children from a previous marriage but none with Kristin. This marks his first public comment on the scandal, though his spokesperson said there would be no further statements.

The viral kiss cam moment, where Kristin turned away and her boss ducked out of sight, sparked countless memes and reignited debates about privacy in the digital age, workplace relationships, and the blurred line between personal and public scrutiny.
