Inspector-General of Police, IGP Kayode Adeolu Egbetokun, has appointed CSP Benjamin Hundeyin as the new Force Public Relations Officer (FPRO), following the exit of DCP Olumuyiwa Adejobi.

Adejobi announced the appointment in a press release shared via the Nigeria Police Force’s official X handle on Wednesday, September 3, 2025.

Hundeyin, an experienced police officer and communications expert, holds a BA in English Language from Lagos State University and an MSc in Legal Criminology & Security Psychology from the University of Ibadan. He also completed a Certificate in Civil-Military Coordination at the Martin Luther Agwai International Leadership and Peacekeeping Training Centre in Jaji, Kaduna State.

He is a member of several professional bodies, including the Nigerian Institute of Public Relations (NIPR), the International Public Relations Association (IPRA), and the Chartered Institute of Personnel Management of Nigeria (CIPM).

Over the course of his career, Hundeyin has served in several key positions, including as Police Public Relations Officer at Zone 2 Command in Lagos and as Administration Officer at the Force Public Relations Department in Abuja. He was also part of Nigeria’s contingent to the United Nations Peacekeeping Mission in Darfur in 2020. Until this new appointment, he was the spokesman for the Lagos State Police Command.

The Inspector-General charged him to use his professional expertise to strengthen the Force’s communication strategies and maintain strong public trust.
