Lagos State Governor, Babajide Sanwo-Olu, on Wednesday, September 3, 2025, marked the second anniversary of the Lagos Rail Mass Transit Blue Line, highlighting its achievements and unveiling a special fare reduction.

In a post on his official X handle, the Governor said the Blue Line has safely conveyed over five million passengers in the last two years without recording a single accident. He noted that trains now operate every 10 minutes, making more than 90 trips daily, thereby reducing travel times and easing the movement of commuters.

Sanwo-Olu described the milestone as proof of what could be achieved through dedication and purposeful governance. He expressed gratitude to Lagos residents for their trust and support, adding that the project represents the collective aspiration for a greater Lagos.

To commemorate the anniversary, the Governor announced a 50 percent discount on Blue Line fares for Thursday, September 4, urging more residents to experience the rail system.

“Our journey is far from over. Step by step, we are creating a Lagos where movement is easier, safer, and faster,” Sanwo-Olu said, reaffirming his administration’s commitment to building modern infrastructure for the state.
