The United States Embassy in Abuja and the Consulate General in Lagos have announced that both offices will be closed on Monday, September 1, 2025, in observance of Labour Day, a public holiday in the United States.

The disclosure was made on August 31, 2025, through the official United States Mission in Nigeria X handle. According to the announcement, normal services and operations will resume on Tuesday, September 2, 2025.

The U.S. Mission noted that the closure is in line with its annual observance of national holidays celebrated in the United States.
