Arsenal Football Club are now in direct negotiations with Bayer Leverkusen over the signing of defender Piero Hincapié after reaching an agreement on personal terms with the player.
According to transfer expert Fabrizio Romano, discussions have advanced to the structural details of the deal, with Arsenal preferring a loan move that includes an obligation to buy. The final outcome now rests on whether Bayer Leverkusen will approve this arrangement.
The move for Hincapié is considered a key step in Arsenal’s defensive reshuffle. Once the Ecuadorian centre-back’s deal is finalised, Jakub Kiwior is expected to complete his switch to FC Porto.
The Gunners are keen to bolster their defensive depth ahead of the new season while ensuring squad balance through strategic outgoings.
