Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu of Lagos State has joined the people of Ilara and the wider Epe Division in celebrating the fifth coronation anniversary of His Royal Majesty, Oba Olufolarin Olukayode Ogunsanwo, the Alara of Ilara.
In a post shared on his verified X handle on Saturday, the Governor praised the monarch’s leadership and impact over the past five years, describing him as a remarkable custodian of tradition and progress.
“In just five years, he has shown what true leadership looks like. He has carried forward the traditions of his forebears while guiding his people with wisdom, dignity, and a deep sense of responsibility. Ilara has grown stronger under his reign, not just as a community, but as an important part of Lagos State’s story,” Sanwo-Olu wrote.
The Governor also offered prayers for the monarch’s continued good health and many more years of service:
“On this milestone, I pray for his continued good health, wisdom, and many more years of fruitful service to his people. May his reign bring lasting peace, joy, and prosperity to Ilara and to all who look to him for guidance. Congratulations, Kabiyesi.”
Oba Ogunsanwo, who ascended the throne of Ilara in 2020, has been widely celebrated for his commitment to fostering unity, preserving cultural heritage, and advancing the development of his community within Lagos State.
The anniversary celebrations in Ilara drew traditional rulers, community leaders, and residents who came together to honor the monarch’s contributions to the Epe Division and beyond.
