The Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) has received a brand-new Compressed Natural Gas (CNG)–powered bus from the Federal Government, aligning with the national vision for cleaner, safer, and more efficient transportation under the Presidential Compressed Natural Gas Initiative (PC-CNG).
In a statement posted on the Corps’ official X handle, the FRSC confirmed that Programme Director of the PC-CNG Initiative, Engr. Michael Oluwagbemi, officially handed over the vehicle to the Corps Marshal, Shehu Mohammed, at the FRSC National Headquarters on Thursday.
According to the statement, the handover represents “a strategic step in the President’s agenda to modernize Nigeria’s transport sector, reduce carbon emissions, and promote sustainable mobility.”
“With this CNG bus, FRSC strengthens its operational capacity while championing greener energy solutions and setting the pace for a safer, cleaner, and more eco-friendly future on our roads,” it added.
The PC-CNG Initiative is a key component of the Federal Government’s clean energy policy, aimed at accelerating the adoption of CNG-powered vehicles nationwide to curb fuel costs, improve air quality, and enhance operational efficiency across public and private sectors.
