The Nigeria Police Force (NPF) has confirmed receiving an official petition from the Nigeria Civil Aviation Authority (NCAA) over an alleged incident involving Fuji music legend, Mr. Wasiu Ayinde Marshal, popularly known as Kwam 1.
According to the petition, KWAM 1 is accused of engaging in unruly behavior that allegedly obstructed the safe operation of an aircraft, in violation of the Nigerian Civil Aviation Regulations, 2023. The reported incident occurred on 5 August 2025 at the Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport, Abuja.
Force Public Relations Officer, Olumuyiwa Adejobi, disclosed in a statement posted on the NPF’s official X handle on August 12 that the Inspector-General of Police, IGP Kayode Adeolu Egbetokun, has directed the Commissioner of Police, Airport Command, to launch a thorough investigation into the matter.
The IGP, according to Adejobi, ordered investigators to unravel the circumstances surrounding the alleged “ugly incident” and ensure that justice is served in accordance with the law.
The NPF assured the public of its commitment to maintaining safety and security within Nigeria’s aviation sector. It also pledged stronger collaboration with industry stakeholders to enhance aviation security and ensure strict compliance with aviation laws.
