Operatives of the Lagos Zonal Directorate 2 of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) have arrested 93 suspected internet fraudsters in Abeokuta, Ogun State.
The anti-graft agency announced the arrests in a post on its official X handle on Sunday, August 10, 2025, stating that the suspects were apprehended during a sting operation following credible intelligence about their alleged involvement in internet-related crimes.
According to the EFCC, the operation led to the recovery of 18 vehicles and several mobile devices from the suspects.
“All the suspects will be charged to court as soon as investigations are concluded,” the statement added.
The EFCC has in recent months intensified its clampdown on cybercrime across the country, warning that it will continue to track, arrest, and prosecute offenders to curb the menace.
