The First Lady of Nigeria, Her Excellency Senator Oluremi Tinubu, has extended warm congratulations to the Super Falcons following their remarkable qualification for the finals of the Women’s African Cup of Nations (WAFCON) tournament in Morocco.
In a heartfelt video message shared on the official X (formerly Twitter) handle of the Nigerian Presidency, and monitored by Mothercloud News, the First Lady celebrated the team’s dedication, unity, and professionalism, which have carried them to the brink of clinching a record tenth African title.
“My beautiful and lovely Super Falcons, I congratulate you and the officials on the qualification for the finals of the Women’s African Cup of Nations,” she said with pride.
“I commend your team spirit, determination, and professionalism demonstrated in all your matches so far. You are shining examples to young girls in Nigeria and across Africa.”
Senator Tinubu, who has long championed women’s empowerment and youth development, praised the team not only for their on-field achievements but also for the inspiration they provide to the next generation of female athletes.
As the Falcons prepare to face Morocco in the final on July 26, the First Lady offered a prayer for their success:
“As you step out for the final match, I pray God crowns your efforts with resounding victory. Make us proud as our worthy ambassadors and champions,” she declared.
She concluded her message with a promise of national pride and celebration:
“Nigeria and I are waiting to receive you with the trophy in hand. God bless you all, and God bless the Federal Republic of Nigeria.”
The Super Falcons, Africa’s most decorated women’s football team, are aiming to extend their legacy with a historic 10th WAFCON title, and the First Lady’s message adds to the growing wave of support pouring in from across the country.
