The President of the National Association of Nigerian Students (NANS), Comrade Atiku Abubakar Isah, has made a shocking accusation against Seyi Tinubu, son of President Bola Tinubu. In a viral video and press statements, Isah claimed he was kidnapped, assaulted, and recorded naked after rejecting a ₦100 million bribe intended to buy his allegiance to the Tinubu administration.

According to Isah, the offer was made as part of a broader effort to gain student support for the President, which he outright rejected. Shortly after, he alleges that he was abducted by individuals he claims are loyal to Seyi Tinubu. Isah said he was physically assaulted, stripped, and forced to record a coerced video under duress.

He also accused political thugs associated with Seyi Tinubu of violently disrupting a NANS inauguration event in Abuja. He said they targeted him and other guests, including members of opposition parties, in a bid to silence dissent and send a message. The allegations have sparked outrage and calls for an independent investigation, though the Tinubu camp has yet to release an official response.

Isah’s claims add to growing concerns about the political climate in Nigeria and the extent to which power brokers may go to consolidate influence among young Nigerians. For many, this incident is another troubling sign of the deepening culture of impunity and intimidation in the country’s politics.
