Governor Siminalayi Fubara is facing political heat, but he’s not letting it shift his stance on national unity. Despite his suspension from the People’s Democratic Party and growing tension in Rivers State’s political scene, Fubara has called on the people of Rivers to continue backing President Bola Tinubu’s administration.
Speaking at a public event, Fubara emphasized the importance of stability and continuity, saying that Rivers State must not allow local politics to cloud its commitment to national progress. “No matter the challenges we face, Rivers people must keep supporting the Federal Government,” he said.
His statement comes amid a deeply fractured political environment in the state, following a major fallout with his predecessor and powerbroker, Nyesom Wike. That clash has led to political realignments, court battles, and efforts by various factions to remove Fubara or sideline him.
Still, Fubara appears focused on governance. He’s continued to inaugurate projects and speak on the need for unity, even as the ground beneath his feet remains politically unstable. His message seems clear: the state’s development must not be derailed by political fights.
