Musiliu Akinsanya, better known as MC Oluomo, is tired of the jokes about his English. And he’s not holding back. In a fiery video posted online, the Lagos transport boss took aim at those who’ve mocked his grammar, telling them to put their children up against his and see who comes out on top.

“You laugh at my English,” he said, “but my kids are in top schools abroad. Bring your children—let’s compare.” The former NURTW leader has long been a controversial figure, blending street influence with political clout in Lagos. But lately, his public speeches have become viral content—often for the wrong reasons.

Critics say he shouldn’t be in such a powerful position without clear communication skills. His defenders argue that leadership isn’t about fluency in English but about results. Oluomo, clearly fed up, says people focus too much on language and not enough on substance. He pointed out that despite the jokes, he’s managed one of the biggest transport systems in Nigeria and built a network of influence that spans politics and grassroots movements.

Love him or hate him, MC Oluomo knows how to make noise—and his latest out
