Labour Party spokesman and actor Kenneth Okonkwo has issued a blunt message to opposition figures ahead of the 2027 elections: if you’re against forming a coalition, you’re working for Bola Tinubu. In a social media post that quickly went viral, Okonkwo warned that the only path to political change is unity, and anyone standing in the way is essentially backing the status quo.

“It’s not about party ego anymore. It’s about saving this country,” he wrote. “If you’re opposing coalition talks, then you are, knowingly or unknowingly, an agent of Tinubu’s political machinery.”

Okonkwo’s statement comes amid early conversations about a possible merger or alliance between opposition parties. The aim is to present a united front against Tinubu’s ruling All Progressives Congress (APC), which many critics say has mismanaged the economy and security.

His words have drawn support from younger voters and political activists, but also sparked backlash from politicians unwilling to surrender their party identities. But Okonkwo stands firm. “We need to put Nigeria first. The 2027 election is not about who has the loudest voice—it’s about who can get results,” he said. “And that means standing together, not tearing each other down.”

Kenneth Okonkwo is throwing shade, saying anyone opposing an opposition coalition is basically working in Tinubu’s favor.
