As Nigeria gears up for the 2027 general elections, political realignments and power plays are becoming more pronounced. However, Dr. Musa Illyasu Kwankwaso, Executive Director (Finance) of the Hadejia Jama’are River Basin Development Authority (HJRBDA), has expressed strong confidence that President Bola Ahmed Tinubu remains unbeatable, despite talks of a possible opposition coalition.
In a recent statement, dismissed the notion that a political alliance involving former Vice President Atiku Abubakar, ex-Kano State Governor Rabiu Kwankwaso, and former Kaduna State Governor Nasir El-Rufai would pose a significant challenge to Tinubu’s re-election bid. He argued that Tinubu’s policies and governance style have earned him widespread support across Nigeria, making him a formidable candidate in 2027.
Opposition’s Struggle to Unite
Discussions about forming a united opposition have been gaining momentum in recent months. Political heavyweights such as Atiku, Kwankwaso, El-Rufai, and even Peter Obi have been rumored to be exploring the possibility of working together to challenge the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC).
